Summaries from the brand background, customer materials, and dated FDD used for this episode.

The Splash and Dash story.

Dan Barton’s account traces the idea to his fitness-industry background and his Yorkie, Mercedes. A 2014 company announcement describes adapting gym memberships to dog bathing and brushing in 2010. The March 2025 FDD separately describes the earlier licensing business, franchising from 2014 and the current franchisor’s 2023 entry.

The customer experience.

Dog owners can arrange bathing, brushing, grooming and related services, with membership options that make routine care easier to plan. Online booking and payment support the experience, while the local team builds familiarity with both the pet and the person holding the leash.

The people and franchise concept.

The owner leads the local team, builds community relationships and manages the business. The March 2025 FDD requires substantial participation and sets conditions for hiring a full-time general manager. Training, safety recertification and the FIDO system provide the operating framework; staffing and day-to-day leadership remain local responsibilities.

PUT THE FIGURES IN CONTEXT

A clearer picture behind the numbers.

Understanding the investment.

Item 7 estimates $296,880 to $453,420 for one leased location, including a $60,000 franchise fee. The estimate assumes 1,000–1,300 square feet, vanilla-shell condition and a landlord improvement allowance. Additional funds of $20,000–$40,000 cover an estimated first three months and exclude owner compensation.

FDD · Item 7

Understanding the sales groups.

For 2024, four salons of at least 1,401 square feet reported average Total Income of $775,917 and median $865,818; two exceeded the average. Eight salons of 1,400 square feet or less averaged $585,432, with median $519,103; three exceeded the average. The disclosed groups had operated at least twelve months by January 1, 2024 and throughout that year.

FDD · Item 19

Putting the figures in context.

The groups exclude two locations closed in 2024 and eight newer franchises. Total Income combines grooming, memberships, retail and other sales, excluding refunds, sales tax and discounts; prepaid cards count upon redemption. These are unaudited franchisee-reported sales, not profit or owner income. Results vary, and the figures do not predict a new location’s results.
